The FBI said Thursday that Brian Keith Wallen is being sought by law enforcement and may be in Florida.

Two Maryland men who operated telemarketing businesses in Delray Beach and Maryland have been indicted on federal charges in connection with an alleged $50 million nationwide office supply scam, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland said.

A federal grand jury indictted Brian Keith Wallen, 52 of Lutherville, Md., and Andrew Stafford, 56, of Bel Air, Md. with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and mail fraud arising from the alleged scheme.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the location and arrest of Wallen. Investigators believe he may be in Florida. Wallen should be considered armed and dangerous with suicidal tendencies, the FBI said Thursday.

The operation involved shipping unwanted and vastly over-priced light bulbs and cleaning supplies to thousands of businesses and non-profit organizations, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

The indictment was filed June 30 and was unsealed Wednesday with Stafford’s arrest. Wallen was reported missing on April 28, and is still being sought by law enforcement.

Several businesses Wallen and Stafford operated were based at 410 NE 5th Ave., Delray Beach, according to Florida Department of State records. These included  B&E Industries, LLC, Commercial Industries LLC, Midway Industries of Delray Beach and  National of Delray Beach.

“Based in Maryland, the defendants allegedly cheated thousands of American businesses out of more than $50 million through a sophisticated scheme that involved sham sales of light bulbs and cleaning supplies,” said U.S. Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein. “According to the allegations, company employees followed a script that included sending unsolicited supplies, lying to victims and repeatedly submitted fraudulent bills.”
